Deep ruby red in colour, this easy drinking wine is packed with the soft ripe fruit flavours of plums & damsons.

 

26, Bonarda – Malbec, Casa Solera, Argentina  £14.95

This wine has a gorgeous, vibrant red colour & aromas of cooked cherries with hints of vanilla. The palate is mellow & round with a soft lingering finish.

An intensely flavoured wine full of spicy blackcurrant & cherry characters. It has a velvety texture with a rich soft finish, well integrated oak adds complexity & structure.

This chilled red wine displays lovely ripe raspberry & cherry aromas on the nose, with a palate that is light, fresh & fruity. The finish is soft & dry.

 
29, Cabernet Sauvignon, Porter Mill Station, South Africa  £16.95

This wine displays good blackcurrant fruit flavours, typical of the variety, with a slight mintiness & good supple tannins. His vintage was a silver medal winner at the 2008 International Wine Awards.

 

30, Primitivo, A-Mano, Italy  £17.25

This wine is deep, ruby red in colour & bursting with ripe, red berry fruits on the nose. The palate is elegant & intense with soft natural tannins & a dry finish.

 

31, Rioja Crianza, Vina Marro, Spain  £17.95

This Rioja has been aged in oak casks to produce its lovely deep colour & subtle smoothness. It has a wonderful combination of ripe, red summer fruits with alluring vanilla undertones.

 

32, Douro Drink Me, Niepoort, Portugal  £18.50

The idea behind Drink Me wine is the creation of a pleasant easy drinking red which still keeps the complexity & mineral notes typical to Douro wine. Each bottle also tells a story with a cartoon illustration designed by Steven Appleby who regularly appears in the Guardian & Sunday Telegraph.

Casa Silva won the “Best Carmenere” trophy at the IWSC awards 2004. This wine, of superlative colour, has great concentration of silky elegant tannins, hints of chocolate & a very long finish.

A fantastic Red Burgundy made from 100% Gamay grapes. This silky smooth Cru Beaujolais is sourced from 50 year old vines to produce a beautiful, soft wine with hints of cherries & red fruit.

Made by a fourth generation family of winemakers, this Pinot Noir has a plumy palate with a hint of oak & rose petals on the nose. Silky tannins are carried further with a fine mineral edge.

A fabulous blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet & Viognier, with only 3000 cases being produced each year. This wine has sweet, dark, spicy fruit on the nose with a nicely weighted palate. Boekenhoutskloof are receiving rave reviews worldwide for their delightful boutique wines.
